You can subscribe to planet interactive fiction, check out individual blogs listed there, or follow planet IF on twitter.

The front page of IFWiki has an overview of competition news. You can also visit the intfiction.org forum.

For news on individual games, you can also check out the Interactive Fiction Database. New reviews and announcements about new releases will often appear there.

IFComp is a good Twitter account to follow, too. Your favorite author is probably also on Twitter and may have a post pinned.

http://twinery.org/forum has some good discussion, too.

Welcome to IF Answers, a site for questions and answers about Interactive Fiction.

Technical questions about interactive fiction development tools such as Inform, Twine, Quest, QuestKit, Squiffy, Adrift, TADS etc. are all on-topic here.

Non-technical questions about interactive fiction are also on-topic. These questions could be about general IF design, specific games, entering the IF Comp etc.
